Hey all, i have a 2007 double cab and have been having problems with the 4wd system. Initially i had the 4 and 4low light flashing in the dash so after much research on here and other forums I figured I had I narrowed down to the front diff actuator. I pulled it out of the diff and found it was completely filled with ice and slush. After cleaning it and testing the motor and switch independently I soldered the connections on the motor and switch the fired it back in the diff. After testing it i found that just the four wheel drive light flashing. Even though the light is flashing the truck will still shift between two and four wheel drive reliably when the dial is turned. I was wondering if anyone here had insight on weather or not it could still be the front actuator malfunctioning or if i should start poking around with the one on t t-case or not.

What you should do is to put it on the jackstands both front and rear wheels and have a buddy flip it into 4wd, then see what's spinning and what isn't. From there you can properly diagnose the failure.
