just wondered if anyone has mounted a single row in the roof. All I see is double rows, and I understand, greater light output, but I was wondering what a single would look like if anybody has got one.

Well I do, but 1st gen. I love mine though. I honestly believe this bar puts out better light than pretty much all double rows. At least the cheaper brand ones. Bigger reflectors are the way to go. Just as much power, but with higher wattage leds and deeper/larger reflectors. You could debate this as some have said you have a single 10watt led vs four 3watt, or even four 5watt(for osrams) per section of a 10watt... But it all comes down to the optics imo. If you were to get one of the slim bars, but with the same optics as a double row, then yeah that's definitely gonna be half the output.

Baja designs onyx line or vision x xpr line would be the best. Mine is a vision x evo prime clone. Discontinued by vision x. But clones can still be had. As well as clones of Baja designs too I think I've seen.

Check my build page for more pics.

I realize you're kind of the 'light' guy around here - and your lights are cool and all. But sorry, man, your exhaust is by far the coolest thing on your truck. You should be the exhaust guy.

Haha. I feel like a broken record at times with lights. Wished I had something new/improved. But other things need tending to.. And I still like my lights more than anything. They are more useful and more fun. Heh. And there's always something new coming out. I'd like to one day get into some kinda work/business that deals with lighting.. But anyways, thanks. Ha.

I've also been contemplating a single row. But I really want a curved bar and can't find curved single row.

They make em. But the optics aren't that great. Kinda like mine but cheaper reflectors. I'll see if I can find one.

Sorry I should have been more clear. I want an osram light bar and can't find any single row curved 42" I might end up just getting a normal 2 row and can find them for under $200

I'd like to see pics of ones mounted pretty snug to the roof, and not mounted on a rack. I really don't like a gap between that much, I like it better when it's close. Not dissing anyone's ride, just not my style. And trying to figure out if anyone makes mounts for single rows that set the bar really low. I know some double row mounts will fit, but since it's only a single row it'll put the bar higher off the roof. Thanks

Seems like your search criteria is pretty narrow. "Pretty snug to the roof" is a subjective term. Do you want it over hanging the top of the windshield or sitting on top of your roof? It would help if you posted a sample pic of a setup similar to what you're looking for. Anyways, good luck. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Does anyone make brackets for the 1st gen taco? I couldn't find any that are mass produced, just people that made their own and sold a few.

I was going to go single row, but I found that the Relentless Fab 50" curved mounts (which I have), and a 50" OSRAM 488w 4D was a better deal in the long run.

I have almost everything to complete a major multiple light install, but it's too cold to work on the truck. I can wait. I'll post pics in my build when done.

Alright so here is my bar. It's a 48inch, which is a little big but i got it for a steal, and its mounted pretty snug to my roof. This is the best pic I have right now if you want a shot from the front I can take one tomorrow and post it up.
