So after ordering my truck twice and waiting twice, dclb sport bbp. I am finally going to pick her up on saturday the 23rd... I am so excited, i have a bakflip toneau, remote start, avs vent visors, trs hid and fogs w led high, rims, and lightbars to install after months of storing in the garage!!!! I feel like a kid on christmas again.
I have also noted the suggestions to check on pickup, i thank all the members who posted advice to purchasing and to all those that helped me get a deal at the dealership, as well as posting fixes for small issues to keep an ear/eye out for on the drive home ( airdrie ) from edmonton. I will write up my review next weekend, including auto trans, initial thoughts, noises, ect vs non ect, and towing. Thx to tacomaworld and its members for all the knowledge and the endless list of mods i now have to catch up on.

I know i will be, just wish it had a stick. Part of the reason i changed over from dodge to toyota a couple years ago was for a stick, found the access cab too small and am now getting the dclb auto. Its a beautifull truck and i know im gonna love it/modding again.

I am with you on wishing the DCLB had a stick. Had a 02 AC TRD OR MT and loved it, but I need a double cab now for the kids. I had an 05 DCSB but the bed was too short for the 3 dirt bikes I regularly carried in it. I pulled the trigger on the 16 cause they make the TRD Off-road in the long bed (among other reasons). I am hoping mine comes by the end of February. Waiting for this truck is worse than waiting for Christmas as a kid... First, and hopefully last brandy new truck...

I just cant decide if i want to go blue with black trim, or just leave everything color matched with the black rims, grille, and bed cover. I might plastidip the grill and fender flares to see what it looks like with a bit of red or black

Alright as promised, i got the truck yesterday. Here are some pics, as well my review.

2016 trd sport dclb, "canadian model"
Heads up, i am not an author.

My first drive approx 250k from the dealership to my house was exciting. The truck on the highway shifted great didnt seem to hunt as much as people said. I did notice some small things here and there but nothing major. After shifting to 4th on a hill it would stay in 5th and not to 6th until i gave it more gasand almost 5500rpm.
Had a weird thing happen in Sport mode, had it in 6th and headed up a small grade, truck automatically shifted to 4th without my input and kept the rpm high even though 5th or 6th would have been fine. once it flattened out again the truck wouldnt go into 6th till i manually shifted to 4th to match then up to 6th... I thought this was weird. Also while scrolling through the driver info everytime the empty screen came up my headunit would restart. ( i will talk to dealer tomorrow) the non upgrade sound system sounded great and worked surprisingly well. I was very distracted looking around and pushing buttons on the drive. WThe very first drive/tank on this truck i averaged 12L/100km which is approx 19-20mpg, i was happy with this. The truck handled well and rode nicely. The stock tires suck in the snow but the truck handled it. I miss the 3 big cupholders in my manual 14 taco. found the centre cluddered and not well laid out. As well the new console is smaller. i was very happy with the added space under and behind the seats. The heated seats/mirrors worked great. The truck is deffinetly lacking torque in the lower rpm range but again its a midsize truck and it had no problems keeping up. i know i missed alot of stuff but if their are any questions in particular please ask.

Here in canada the bakflips are approx 2 weeks away to the distribution centre then 1 week to deliver to dealers/shops, i should have it by the end of feb along with my backordered avs in channel visors.

I am letting the truck break in ftmp, but i also like to play around and see whats happening. So far i love the truck and have had no issues with tranny/ howling/vibration. I will start playing more with ect and s mode after about 5000k,

    Thx for reading my review/thread.
