I have recently purchased a 2005 DCSB Tacoma and it came with air bags in the rear. I was lucky enough to get a stage 3 Icon set up and wondering about the AAL and the air bags.

Should I take the air bags out when I installed the rear AAL and new shocks?

Would it be beneficial to leave them in and leave them at very low pressure unless I hook up a trailer?

You can leave them. But I'd suggest getting the daystar cradles so you don't risk breaking the bags when u flex your suspension.

I've have mine attached per the factory install w/o the Daystars, haven't had any problems. Have had the rear wheels hanging a couple of times, but then I'm only running about 1-1/2 to 2" lift with my 3 leaf progressive AAL's. Firestone says it won't hurt them but then again that is based on a stock lift. YMMV

Thanks for the info. Appreciate it.

I just installed the Icon AAL tonight on the drivers side and I took out the overload spring as per the icon instructions and now I have read on a couple threads I could have left it in and had an extra half inch of lift with the same feel. Bummer.
