Actually I think it worked out to where you cannot buy it over the Net but you have to buy it over the phone, I got in touch with whatever person still sells them and he gave me a great offer price in which I used as a bargaining tool with my dealer when I bought my 2015.

    The better coast
Troy sounds familiar. I also forgot to look it up, sorry op.

But that's shitty. That darn Internet is driving down prices so there is a competitive market......

Just found this from Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota. Its a couple of years old.

"Toyota has made a Rule change on how a customer can purchase the Toyota warranty and how I can offer it.

A customer can still purchase the Factory Platinum warranty from any Toyota dealer in the USA

Here is the new rule you can still purchase the warranty over the phone if you purchase from a Toyota Dealer in your state but to purchase the warranty out of your state you can no longer purchase over the phone you would need to come in person to the dealership to make the purchase in person

Toyota has had dealers complaining so this should make them happy

I have all ways had a lot of customers come from out of state to purchase because they like to make the purchase in person and I do understand this may not work for everyone.

I can still help you with the warranty if you would come in and see me but if not and understand this is not fair to us all a lot of customers have been calling the 800-331-4331 complaint department

I can now do the Maintenance program over the phone again
    "

Ultimately I decided that even at his extremely low prices (Toyota Platinum, 7 years, 100K miles, $849) it didn't make financial sense to buy a warranty. So I never looked into finding a way for a stand in to make the purchase for me

Yeah like I said I still may cancel the warranty. I just figured that since the offer sounded good at the time I would go ahead and sign up for it and cancel later if I wanted.
