Torn CV boot

I used NAPA's reman'd CV when I swapped my passenger side after a torn boot. easier to just replace the entire thing. I think I paid a total of like 60 bucks after I returned my core.. I gotta do it again to the driver side here shortly as it tore last weekend. NAPA here I come..

 

I am just going to have the tire shop do it. Cheaper than the dealer. One hour labor at $72.

 

I'd have to look at my receipt but I bought from camelback for around $330 a piece.

I'd never give up an OEM as a core, you can sell them with blown boots for more then the core charge on here. Reason being the OEM axles are the only thing compatible with LT shafts.

Not hard to do yourself. Just a little messy

 

Not lookin to make money.. Just get my truck back up and running. The fact I can go right into NAPA, grab the cv, swap it in an hour, then return my core and only be out 60 bucks is really nice and convenient.

 

Trucks at the shop. It'll be done tomorrow. This has been an expensive lesson in lifted trucks lol

 

Money aside the aftermarket CVs are inferior products.

time will tell I suppose. no issues yet.. plus has a warranty.

 

All better. I think I'm going to keep a CV boot kit on hand so the next time this happens as it inadvertently will, I'll be prepared. Or maybe a solid axle swap.
