My wife and I want to buy a camping trailer but not a bigger truck to pull one safely. What are suggestions for the maximum dry weight for my v6 Tacoma that has the 6500 pound towing package? And what brand? We've heard Lance is light weight and high quality.

What type of camper do you want? Pop up? Hard trailer?

A 16" Airstream Bambi is listed at about 3500 Max weight.

Look at Scamp and umm.... Casita. They are in this forum, just sit down and read a bit. It's one or the other for me in the future. Perfect for two people and a dog.

My wife and I love our 17ft Casita. Dry weight is 2480. I wanted a fiberglass camper, not only because its lightweight but they hold their value compared to stick built units. I also considered a Scamp but after weeks of researching the Casita and the Scamp i chose the Casita. Undercarriage flooring is fiberglass on the Casita's, so the bottom looks like the top. Scamps are exposed wood. That was my deciding factor. Good luck with your purchase.
