Okay so I purchased a used 2011 Toyota Tacoma a couple of weeks ago and yesterday the transmission started giving me trouble.

Driving home from work yesterday the truck would not get out of 3 rd gear and I was running 45 mph at about 3500 RPM's. I pulled over turned the truck off and then started it back put it into gear and didn't have any more issues that day other than it dumping into hear a little harder than normal.

Fast forward to this morning with gears dumping at times but this time when I came to a complete stop the truck didn't down shift at all from 5th gear and the truck just killed at the red light.

I tried to check the transmission fluid level but they have no dipstick to verify the fluid levels. I need the experts to help me out on what my issue could be. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Take it back to where you bought it and have them do a full check.

There is no dipstick to check fluid levels. There is a straw like apparatus in the fluid pan that is used to check the level. Which means the transmission fluid cannot be over a certain temp to check it properly. So keep that in mind when you drop it off. You may have to wait a while or leave it overnight so the fluid levels can be checked properly.
