so i have a double cab tacoma 2010 base pre runner v6 and i believe the tires are a size 245/75-16 i think and i wanted to get tires with the size 265 like those on a trd tacoma sport, is there anything i need to know about getting bigger tires? my wheels are the steel wheels with the center cap and i have stock everything. everytime i look at my truck, i feel like my tires are tiny and look funny to me. thanks

the trd package comes with 265/70r16. You have 245/75r16. Both have the same overall height, but the 245's are narrower. Most people go up to the 265/75r16. Check out this link to compare different sizes.

No problem with going up to this larger size. Will give you roughly a 32" tire rather than a 31" tire. Keep it P rated rather than LT. P rated tires are much lighter and will not have much of an impact on your MPG's. If you want a stiffer ride, better puncture/flat resistance, and are willing to sacrifice a bit of fuel economy you can go with an LT rated tire in Load range C.

Unless you do serious off-roading I recommend P265/75r16 (and beyond that I recommend a Michelin LTX AT2 or Michelin LTX MS2)
