2014 4X4 Tacoma double cab

Hi everyone. I am new to this list. I apologize if this has been discussed already. Recently my bluetooth on my multimedia player decided to not work. It remains "grayed out" now and therefore I can not connect any thing to it anymore. It used to work with out any issues at all. Not that's not the case. Has anyone on this list experienced this problem?
Has anyone come up with a fix that didn't include abandoning "bluetooth" all together and just using a cable to connect via the aux input?
