Bought my 2012 Tacoma trd 4x4 brand new and never did any mods to it. Now am looking to getting a 3inch lift with some new wheels and tires . Don't know where the sudden interest is to finally start customizing my truck but looking to make a lot of impulse buys here soon!

Well sir, if you came here looking to spend money on needless "mods", then you came to the wrong place friend. TacomaWorld members pride themselves on frugality, and making common sense purchases only when absolutely necessary, and encouraging others to do the same.

What is your use criteria? Is this mainly a daily driver/weekend warrior? What type of terrain do you off road in, if you do?

Rather than going with a 3" lift, I would suggest a 2" lift with 1" larger tires (265/75R16 or 265/70R17) in C-load. You do not run into the driveline problems with the smaller lift, your don't need to spend an extra $400+ on new UCAs, you don't have the power loss by going with the 265 vs 285s, you get better mpgs, and you get a better ride from C-loads. All round a better performing truck. That extra inch causes a lot of negative things IMO for what you get. Unless your use is regular rock crawling or other off road activity where maximum ground clearance is required, it is not worth it IMO.

You didn't pick up on the sarcasm. I guess I just wanted to be the first person to group those words together in that order, because I'm pretty sure it's never been done.

TacomaWorld is actually a lot like Pat Sajak from Wheel of Fortune. He'll stand beside you, at the end of the round, encouraging you to spend all the money you have, on all the wonderful merchandise you see in front of you.

    Now let's spin that wheel.....

It's not my daily driver , now that it's paid off I wanted to start putting money into it to make it more of what I wanted it to look like and be my toy. Take it out to the desert or trails or what have you. I was considering purchasing the ome kit with Dakar springs and new uca's here pretty soon but still exploring myoptions

Running fast in the desert is different than driving on forest trails is different than bumping through a field of baby heads is different than picking through a boulder garden. The "what have you" is the key thing to consider.
