3" Bilstein lift(887 coils with Bilstein adjustable 5100s set at 2.5"), AAL in rear with Bilstein 5100s
My truck is set up with Bilstein 5100 adjustables with 887 coils compressed to the highest setting on the shock. My ride is extremely rough and know it is because of my coil. As I have researched, I found out that 887s are 3"+/- coils so I can technically drop the coil down to the first or second setting on the shock. When I lifted my truck, the lift gave me 4" when I was only expecting 3". I love how my truck sits and would prefer to not lose any height when I lower my coil because I know it will lower a little with a lower setting. Since I want a smoother ride, I need to lower the coils, but came up with solution of adding a little spacer on the top to keep my height, but have a smoother ride. I know that spacers are very risky, but this spacer wouldn't be any bigger than 2", plus I just installed some Total Chaos UCAs to help me out. My main question is (to save money): Can I use a spacer lift off a 3rd gen 4Runner on my truck? I am assuming I cannot due to whole different suspension designs, but my cousin's roommate has his laying around that he'll give me for cheap. If this is not possible I will just buy some for my truck. I would appreciate any help from you guys with your knowledge about any other solutions I can do. Thanks!

You are not supposed to run the billies at anything but the lowest setting (0") when pairing them with the 887 coils. I'm shocked that you were able to get the 887s set up on the billies at their highest setting. Some people don't follow this rule and have been putting the billies at .85" setting, but that is the highest you should go. I'm no suspension guru, but a spacer on top of all that is not going to be good.

Im pretty sure the rule of thumb for 4x4s is do not lift above 3" unless you move to the drop bracket kit otherwise you stress your CVs really badly. If you are a pre-runner then you need to get a spindle lift.

aint gonna work... the 3 hole configuration on the 3rd gen 4 runner (1st gen taco) is different than the 2nd gen taco.

Also a 2inch spacer on top of the shock will cause the shock to bottom out before hitting bump stop. The thickest you could go is about an inch of thickness on a spacer and not have shock bottoming before bumpstop problems.

4gen 4Runner spacers will work. It seems like a horrible idea though.

Is the spacer itself 2" thick or does it provide 2" of lift?

I have read that at the lowest setting I will have 3" of lift and just want an inch spacer on the top if possible. i just want to maintain 4" and trying to stay as cheap as possible until I can afford a whole new setup up front. I also have a 1" drop on the front axle to help out my CVs. I am going to keep looking around for the best solution.
