Long story short....I go to my local O'reilly's to pick up some TB cleaner and a new PCV, the guy tells me " oh, that one is $28.99 ", I say "wtf?, it should be like $4"....he looks up a picture of it and says " hmmm, it must be because it is the screw type". Suffice it to say, I did not buy a $30 PCV. I think I'm going to just try to clean the old one with the TB cleaner.

Has anyone else had this experience? and what kind of results should I expect in cleaning and replacing PCV? I personally have always replaced with new.

Where is the pcv on these trucks? My Chilton's manual doesn't even mention it.

    Too many mods to list
That part is less than $10 bucks at any decent OEM Toyota Parts shop.

I just pulled my PCV valve tonight to clean it in conjunction with a throttle body cleaning, air filter clean/re-oil, and MAF sensor clean. When I reinstalled the PCV valve I torqued it to 20 ft-lbs per the link above. I noticed, however, that it wasn't fully seated up against the engine / all the way to the base of the threads. Is this normal? Prior to removing it I didn't notice whether or not it was seated all the way in. Thanks!

It has tapered threads and doesn't need to be seated against the engine.

Local Autozone lists it for $12.99.

    Part Number: PCV1014DL
    Alternate Part Number: PCV1014
