I seen that and a couple more different weights online, pretty much why I posted this with the photo, to show a more accurate weight.

Can anyone weigh a ST Maxx in 265 75 16 unmounted/not on a rim? Cooper says it is 49 lbs but I think they all are running heavy...

Would the 17 incher be a bit off/lighter because there is a bigger wheel involved (17 vs 16)?
    Thanks..

Gosh thats heavy, damn those load range E 10-ply. I say scale is correct, I had BFG AT KO Load Range E weighed 54 lbs. Same size but 16” tire. I learned the 1st time, 2nd time went Load Range C. I’m due up for 3rd set and 285’s what I’m aiming for.

OP, thanks for sharing. I knew it couldn’t be 51 lbs.

Hey I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd post. I weighed my new unmounted 265 75 16 load range E and got 56 lbs on the nose. Damn I was hoping for the 49 lbs that Tread Depot lists on their site. Old Bfg ta kos were 51 lbs in load range d.

Debating on switching to Load C tires, is the ride much smoother? Did you notice a MPG increase with the lighter tire?

For additional info...I had ST Maxx - 255/80r17 for a bit...they were 59lbs and I didn't like how they took longer to get moving and the increase in stopping distance.

I changed to the 285/70r17 C rated Cooper AT3 which weighs 45lbs. Not as durable as the E rated but the truck fits my personal driving taste better with these.

Tire weight is now my main consideration after size.

I always figured Tread Depot was inaccurate. And it's a shame Cooper doesn't post official specs for this. Although, I'm starting to see why... As bad as I want these tires, I can't justify this weight on a mid-sized daily-driver.

Thanks to those who weighed these.

Sorry for late response, but I can’t remember it having a smoother ride. Basically, both have a 3 ply side wall. Also, the more tire wall on the 16” rim vs 17”. Yes, but it wasn’t much, about 1.5-2 mpg. Also, on the 3rd set I ended up with sticking to 265/70/17. Decided not to go with 285’s after all since I would of gone with P-rated at that size to keep tire weight under 50 lbs.
