Is it best to hook up power for a CB to an accessory wire from the ignition or go stright to the battery. What are the pros and cons?

Straight to the battery, less interference that way. Run the ground directly to it as well.

Okay sounds good. Thank you! I have an amp under the passenger seat with a 4 gauge wire running to it from the battery. Would it be the same to run it to that? So I don't have to go through the firewall again.

I wouldn't do it that way. It's not that hard to run the wires through the firewall grommet on the drivers side near the master cylinder. Also make sure you run an inline fuse but most cb's come with one already. However it would be better to have one closest the battery in case there were to be a short.
