OEM tonneau parts discontinued???

FYI. The spouse went to the local Toyota parts dept. to purchase a rubber bump stop for the tonneau section over the tailgate (she tore off the bump stop hauling stuff) and the parts mgr indicated that most of the individual parts for the OEM tonneau on our truck have been discontinued. He speculated that there may possibly be a revised tonneau or a supplier change on the Tacoma tonneau. My truck was built in September.

He was nice enough to remove a bump stop from an in stock truck and gave it to my spouse.

 

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. After seeing the fit and finish along with the modifications needed on the bed, I would not be surprised if they did a running change to a new and improved version.

My guess is that its also why you can't purchase the cover separately.
