Hi TW! Picked up this 2001 TRD OffRoad, 3.4L, 5 speed manual, access cab back in October. At the time, I needed to buy something quick, and from the moment I started looking into Tacos, Tacoma World has been a wealth of information on anything and everything. For that I thank you all very much! A search function that works is a wonderful thing.

168,000 miles at the time of transfer, reasonably well maintained and I'm only the third owner. Unfortunately this poor 1st gen has spent all of its 15 years in upstate New York getting eaten away by our salt-happy highway departments. Frame was swapped in 2011. Needs some body work, rocker panels and some patches, a good grind + fluid film coating will do wonders. Besides that, it'll soon get a new clutch, diff and trans fluids, timing belt and water pump, and eventually new suspension.

My second ever vehicle, first truck and I like it a lot so far.

    As purchased:

The first substantial improvement was to replace the worn out firestone highway tires with BFG KO2s. So much more traction, really good in the snow (and we get a lot of it).

Really looking forward to spring when futzing with it isn't such a miserable proposition. I need a heated garage! Another day.

    Cheers!
