Question about Gen 3 Tacoma I now have.......

This is my 4th Toyota Truck in a row. First one was a regular 2WD Ext Cab that had 335,000 miles on it when I traded it for a new Tundra........then got an '07 Double Cab Tacoma because my fishing habits dictated getting a 4wd ..........last week traded it for this new TRD Sport double cab long bed. Thrilled with it.

Question: Is the Gen 3 Tacoma the same size truck as the Gen 2's or is it a little larger?

Some can probably give you exact measurements and all but I'll start it off with what little I know since this is my first Toyota truck since 1992 and that one was while living in Japan.

The bed length is the same but the 2016 bed is deeper. The 3rd Gen sits a bit higher. And pretty sure the hood is more massive.

 

five minutes with this should get a definative answer...IMHO, yes, slightly bigger...
