O its normal per dealership tech.

I'm not sure if this is a issue or not this is my first tacoma has anyone experienced when going down hill on the road 25 - 45 mph an you take your foot off the accelerator the engine revs up

 

Very normal, it's 'engine braking'. No worries there.

 

Welcome Tacoma71. My truck does not do this. I wonder how big of an increase in rpms you are experiencing.

 

When you experience this, is your cruise control on?

 

tacoma auto tranny has a more enhanced engine braking than other auto trannies

you can flip it to N then D quick (not too fast, maybe 2 second move) and it will
stop doing the engine braking at the enhanced level

this engine braking is awesome when carrying a load in the back, but kinda 'in the way' otherwise. but the D/N/D trick disengages it for the current hill

 

To answer addicus24 no cruise control used.
Off topic some numnut hit my front bumper who makes a good aluminum or steel bumper.
