Hearing the first signs that I finally reached the brake pad sensor, so I'm hoping I can replace the pads myself ...checked online and here I am... Anyone out there want to take a shot at telling me which pads are making noise?
With rear drums and of course front disc configuration and 59,300 miles of gentle use on a regular cab sporting a basic shell on the 6' bed ....front or rear? It sounds to me as if I hear the sound emanating from the rear when I open the rear window slide and listen for the sound with light application. Of course this may be the effect of how I perceive the squeak's origin due to sound dynamics especially when the pickup is moving forward.
So if you want to participate in a bit of "I told you so..." give me your best guess; FRONT vs. REAR this will be quite interesting not only for novice DYIers like myself but for anyone else that is just hearing for the first time that warning sensor squeak that says, "It's time to replace me, NOW! To ignore this warning means I risk a more costly repair in a very short span of drive time.... I'll check back soon as I get a look, and share then with everyone what you may think is the obvious answer.
