Ok here is the long overdue Flush pictures and info. Two of these have been mounted now and they are awesome! I am taking pre-orders on these until the 5th of Feb and have 9 remaining at the pre-order pricing.

I tested with two different LEDs. The top one is a Baja Designs 30" Stealth and the bottom one is the Cali Raised Single Row Spot. Both are great LEDs. It is hard to see from the pictures but you will have to cut out the slats in the grill and when I did the Baja Designs one, I had to make the opening a little bit wider. I did learn that this plastic cuts very easy with a sharp knife. I used my Kershaw pocket knife and it made very nice straight and clean cuts. This install is straight forward and the hardest part is putting the bolts in the LED, it takes a little patients as it is a tight fit. But if I can get my hands in there, I know it will be something any of you guys can do! Enjoy the pictures and please let me know if you have any questions!!!

I am a dealer for Cali Raised, so I need to be choosy with my words here. While they both put the LED in a similar location there are some major design differences. Their mounts are plasma cut from 1/8" thick plate, have three bends in them and attach with two nuts. Mine are laser cut from 3/16" thick plate, have zero bends and a welded gusset for even more strength, they also attach in three locations for even more strength and placement. Both come powered coated. I personally think my design and construction have advantages and in the long run make for a mount that will work amazing, will not shake or vibrate, and will hold your expensive LED with certainty. For some people they want the best deal, and I support that. There is the DIY community that like to make their own mounts and I support that too. I made mine to be the strongest and best mounts available and I think I have achieved that. I have received a ton of positive feedback from the 2nd Gen and 4Runner communities for my mounts and I think the product speaks for itself! I hope to earn your business, but I am not offended or mad at anyone who buys from a company I use as a vendor. Ultimately it's about what is best for the TW community and more choices are better for everyone right!

PM inbound. I am all sold out of pre-orders at this time. I have limited access to my website from my normal day job and all I could do was disable the page until I get home to update the 2016 quantities.

    ** UPDATE **

Hey everyone. So I wanted to give you all an update on the mounts and what is going on. I unfortunately need to report that we have a delay... USPS and Homeland security tagged my box of laser cut parts as a potential "security risk" because there was "a lot of metal in the box." So I did not get the parts yesterday as planned... Which goofs up the timeline for powder coating and getting everything mailed out on the 5th of Feb.

However, laser cutter to the rescue. So the laser cutter is being a huge help and bumped a re-do order to the front of the list. They are cutting them tomorrow and 2-Day UPS shipping them to me. So I will have them by Friday, will weld everything up over the weekend and have parts to my powder coater on Monday. The new expected ship date is 12 Feb 2015.

I am deeply sorry for the delay in getting these things out. I am doing everything I can to get these out as quickly as possible for you. If anyone has an issue please shoot me a PM and we can come up with an appropriate solution for you. I really appreciate everyone's patients and understanding. I am not a big shop, just a guy who does this as a 2nd business after work. I have the top dollar welding equipment and over 16 year experience, but that also means I rely heavily on my vendors to support me with cutting and powder coating. Because of this I can't always be as fast as a big shop who owns all the big dollar equipment. Thank you for supporting the small guy and for your business!!!!!

    Chris

    Wow... Crickets chirping lol

A lot of metal in the box?? That's crazy. Steel is shipped by the truckload everyday. They must have more reason than just a lot of metal in the box, or they thought they had more reason anyway.

Well that sucks but shit happens bud. My only concern is the possibility of this happening again? Shipping the same thing from the same place seems it could. One more week isn't that bad, but the possibility it might not only be an extra week makes it more of a concern.

Are any new measures being taken to insure this doesn't happen next time?

Just curious man, thanks for keeping us informed!

I wish I had a better explanation but the Post Office wasn't much of a help... They aren't the ones who do the security process so they couldn't tell me much. I have laser cutting shipped all the time and this has never happened to me. From my work in the military I can tell you that they like to do RAMs, Random Anti-terrorism Measures so maybe I was just the unlucky one this time...

So the original laser cutting was shipped USPS and the new stuff will be UPS. So hopefully UPS won't have the hang up. From what I am told the USPS stuff will release in the next couple days so I still might even get it before the UPS 2-Day stuff being sent tomorrow. So I have two shipments of the same thing headed my way and the chances of one of them not getting here by Friday seem very low to me.

As for your concerns. At any point if anyone thinks this delay is a problem they can contact me and we can discuss a refund, or I can work with Cali Raised to get you a set of their mounts and a partial refund of the difference. Sending you guys to the competitor is not something I want to do, but at the end of the day I want you guys to be happy.

I am extremely committed to getting these to you guys as soon as possible without a drop in quality. This 2nd order and overnight shipping I have coming is not free. It all cost me a lot of money and just almost doubled my cost to make these. At this point the amount of money I will be making on this set of mounts is almost negligible, and I am going to be happy to break even. You have to remember these are already discounted $55 from retail for the pre-orders so you add in a double order of laser cutting and shipping and ya, there isn't much left of the pie.

For measures to not have this happen again, it is hard to answer this question. The initial launching of a product is always the hardest because there is design, R&D, building fixtures and doing everything the first time. If there are any issues they are identified in the initial order. After I get these out it is just a matter of continuing to manufacture these at the appropriate rate of sale. You have to remember this is a pre-order, not a normal purchase. So there is going to be a little waiting involved while everything comes together.

Again I am deeply sorry for the delay. There are times when shops get too busy and get behind, and then there are times when the situation is out of their control. In this case it's not that I have parts laying around not getting worked on, but that I am being held hostage by USPS. I assure you guys I will do whatever it takes to get these welded and coated and out as soon as possible. I have already been in contact with my powder coater to get on their schedule and try and get these a couple days sooner than the normal turn around time. I really appreciate the support and patients and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you if any of this is not sufficient for you.

Switching from USPS to UPS sounds like a good measure to me.

I have had steel cut via waterjet a couple times, shipped hundreds of knives overseas without issues... Then once in a blue moon they get a hair up their ass and keep a box in customs for a month... I definitely understand and I'm not wanting any type of refund, I don't mind waiting I just wanted to know some details brother!!

I didn't build it hoping for your approval, I built it because it meets mine!
Shit happens. At the end of the day we will all be getting a quality product from an honest guy. Everything is hand made in the USA and if it takes a few extra days then so be it.
Thanks for the updates, Chris. I'm sure I speak for everyone that preordered when I say keep up the hard work and I can't wait to get the mounts!

I have good news!!!!! These will be going to the powder coated tomorrow. Still claiming the 12th of Feb for a ship date, but it will more than likely be sooner than that.
