I want to lift my truck but I have no idea where to start. Im only looking to lift it a couple inches because i already have to pull myself up to get inside and i dont really want to have to use a ladder to get in but what do people recommend, 2 or 3in lift? Also, what are some good brands people have had good experiences with? If i lift it 2in am i going to have to get bigger tires and wheels right off the bat because my tires are still in great shape and id like to keep them if possible. Ive just got a million questions so if anyone could help id appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

There's a million posts about that subject. Try browsing the suspension forum. Tons of info in there!

In my lift thread you can see a 2.5" lift still running stock tires.

So many choices, so much information! This is the place but unfortunately, there's no easy or one answer to that question until you read about it and have some inkling of all the permutations and combinations. The one early piece of advice that I can safely give is that budget wise, like everything else in life, cheap is not the way to go.

There's everything from the sublime to the ridiculous available.....It's a popular thing to put the most extravegent, expensive, and highest tech parts known to man on a truck if you can afford it. While that's just fine, it's NOT always needed. There are multitudes of acceptable combinations in various budget levels. Most are MORE than adequate for the majority of us. Unless you plan on racing Baja, most of this stuff is BIG TIME over-kill.

I've got along just fine with a 2" top plate spacer kit/1" blocks for the first 81,000 miles on my truck. Stock TRD OR shocks are beginning to wear down after all those miles, so I'm moving up a bit.

I just ordered today, what is a great combination of parts that'll give me 2-1/2"+ of front lift, with adaptabilility to go a bit higher if I so choose. 2" in the rear, which I plan on upgrading later.....I'm doing Bilstein 5100's, OME 885's, Dever 2" AAL, assembled struts, delivered to my door for less than $750. I'll upgrade to a better rear leaf pack in a few months. I can always add a 1/2" top plate to the struts if I want to go past 2-1/2" in the front. Moral of the story? A decent suspension more than adequate for what I'll be doing, and at a reasonable price.

See the above post from Headstrong......They're more'n helpful.
