A big change...

Hello TWers. Expecting to buy a new Tacoma before summer--will be my first truck. I live in the metro Twin Cities, MN. Used to enjoy street/track BMWs that I could afford to own by buying used and doing all my own maintenance/repair. Family and career demands, plus outdoor sports hobbies (mtn biking, xc skiing, paddle boarding, ski boat etc) are pointing me towards something more utilitarian. Also own a nice 1985 VW Vanagon Westfalia for summer fun (stored winters). We are seeing the writing on the wall that we are outgrowing it, so the Tacoma could eventually be our weekend get-away vehicle too. (I say could because it would be really hard to part with the Westfalia). Why a Taco? My neighbor/good friend is a taco fanatic with a late 1st gen dcsb TRD tastefully modified and he's slowly brainwashed me. And in my early 20's my best friend had a 1st gen 4wd Taco that took us on many backcountry adventures in CA. I can't really consider the competitors, I'm hardwired for the Tacoma!
