    I'll take it apart and try the re-soldering fix soon, but in the mean time this'll do.

    There's a guy on eBay that will fix it for $25 and guarantee it for life. About a 3 day turnaround. I've seen his ad in car magazines too. Years after fix, mine is still working.

    Damn, wish I thought of that.
    I found a local circuit board maker and went over with a 6 pack of beers, the new resistor and the board from the truck. I told them that I tried but just couldn't keep my hands still.
    They fixed in in 5 minutes and we had a few beers with the tech and manager after.
    Lucky for me that they were so close, maybe try that.
