Good deal. I was hoping that would be the case. Upgrades will happen eventually but for now wanted to stick with a good RTR. He likely won't beat on it like I do my stuff.

The rtr have the parts to make it 4 link immediately where the kit has some other options. The deadbolt is cheaper because it has less licensing than the jeeps

Finally broke down and snagged an Axial Bomber and battery/charger today. Ran 1 pack though it, very impressed overall. Fits my style well, torquey and flexy, pretty damn tough too. Took a few spills and no damage at all.

Havent been in RC for about the last 6 years, broke too many parts on my old monster trucks. Glad to have a crawler now.

For those of you who have the 6 lug white RC4WD wheels on an SCX-10, I have a question. Would they work with Vanquish high steer knuckles? Meaning, how is their offset?

I really like the look of these wheels, but I need something that will clean the VP knuckles so I was looking at SLW wheels to use the VP hubs.

Got some new aluminum internal beat locks for the twin hammers. They are a heavier than the plastic wheels, but that should help keep the roof off of the ground.image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Just picked up a Traaxas Slash 4x4 with a brushless motor. So much fun.

So many aftermarket parts to buy.

I miss my old slash. Was built to the gills. I have a short course track 10 min from me so I may end up picking up a another sct sometime

Those look great! Backspacing....how close was the steering linkage to the tire?
the Axial wheels I got clear but just by scant millimeters.

I'm actually not sure on the specs. They look to be a lower quality product than what you'd get on rc4wd, but they seem to be made well enough. I'll try to remember to put the calipers in them for some measurements next time I pull a wheel off. Here they are on Amazon though image.jpg

The Slash is so much fun.

I got the call this afternoon. My XMAXX was in. This thing is monsterous. Huge. Runs on 2x 5000 50Cs. I hear between the two, they're good for 15-20 minutes :yikes! Just one of the wheels is equal to maybe 3 of the Slash...pics later.

I almost got the xmaxx but wanted something that goes fast. Plus the price for the xmaxx was just insane.

Have to admit the Xmaxx is pretty cool. And huge! I've seen a couple instances, though, where the esc has overheated and caught fire. Might want to keep an eye on temps for a while.

I just ordered an SCX10 Ram Power Wagon. I wanted the water resistant electronics and it has a longer wheelbase than the Deadbolt. Also ordered the tires & 6-lug wheels I posted earlier as well as a body and paint. "Project Dad" is coming together. Still have to order a battery and charger, a bumper, and a couple other things.

Locked Up wheels got here today and they are sweet!! Scale hardware is a really nice touch too.

Now I just have to decide on which tire to run....
