I poked around a little bit but didn't see any confident answers...

I live in a fairly cold wintery location and have had a dead battery the last two mornings. Once I jumped it yesterday and drove around for a bit, it was fine for the rest of the day. This morning it was dead again after a 1º night. At this point I figured the original battery on my 2010 might be done. It would take a jump after about 15 minutes of trying.

I called the local Toyota dealership and he mentioned the TrueStart batteries are manufactured by Interstate and come with a 2 year replacement warranty and a 4 additional years of pro price at a battery cost of 99$. Not too shabby after comparing to my local auto parts stores. Unfortunately I am out in the boonies and don't have a Costco or Sams Club nearby.

I was reading up on the Cold Crank Amount and it sounds like it does matter in my situation, even after he mentioned it really didn't. The TrueStarts have 710 CCA and some of the other batteries go up to almost 900 CCA. The downside is these are only a 2 year warranty and significantly more expensive.

Any thoughts or experience with cold weather and batteries? Brands? CCA amounts?

Just a heads up, I do have access to O'reilly, NAPA, K-mart, a certified Good Year shop, and an auto shop / Chevron in my little ski town. Oh and the Toyota Dealership.

Thanks for the input and feedback.

    Cheers
