I saw a SoCal craigslist deal on a ARB front bumper for $800, and I'm pretty tempted to pick it up, but it's on a 2012-15 body style Tacoma, and I have a 2009. Would it fit on my truck?

Go on Toytec.com and look at the different years versions. That might answer your question. But I do not believe it will fit as the noses are different

It will bolt into place, but you'll have to cut the OEM bumper to fill in the gap between the ARB and the grill/headlights. Even then it may not look quite right. As far as I know, no one has put the 12-15 style on a 2005-11 Tacoma.

But, it definitely will bolt on.

Alright so I am gonna bring this thread back here from the dead.....

So 05-10 arb bumper and 12-15 arb bumper are being advertised as year specific parts.

But this pic from airflow shows what seems to be only a 05-10 arb bumper option with no fogs installed on a 12-15 taco?Unknown.jpg

It is clear to me the tacoma in the picture is 12+
What is not clear to and the reason I questioned the bumper year specification is that I have not seen advertised by arb a 12+ without the fog cut out.

    i makes any sense??

Hmm. You sir, have me stumped.

I've yet to see a non-deluxe 2012+ bumper, but the height of the bull bar and the way it mounts over the OEM bumper cover definitely looks 2012+ to me.

    Researching now.

@crazy joker put a pre 2012 ARB on a post 2012, the mounting points are the same on all 2nd gens, the difference is the line below the headlights and if you are OK with a gap. Some newer trucks have an AC line outboard of the condenser but I don't think the ARB interferes with it. I plan to do this as I think the 2012+ was a bad redesign, the tubing is too high and you can see it above the hood, also it doesn't wrap around as well as the pre 2012 models. The newest arb for 2nd gens also protrudes several inches farther out.

I also did it. I don't mean to brag, but I was one of the first, if the not the first on this forum to try it. Lots more details in my build thread.

Looks good. I see in your build you thought you may have been able to fill the gaps with your bumper cover but you found a buyer for it. I am considering selling mine as well and buying a black (unpainted ) one from toyota to cut up and fill the gaps when I tackle this. Any details on the grinding you had to do to fit the pre 2012 arb onto your 2015?

I originally just trimmed the upper bumper cover supports enough for the ARB to fit, which is a grinding I referred to. I wanted to leave them in place, because they helped to fill the empty gap. However, I eventually removed the supports all together, as they're no longer needed.

There is also a 45* gusset at the 90* angle on the back side of where the bull bar mounts to the bumper. I later ground that off, allowing the bumper to be mounted closer to the grill.

Hi. Part No. 423140 for 2012-2015 definitely fits 2005-2011. I guess i didn't know any better when i ordered based on appearance preference - 4 wheelparts didn't differentiate in their descriptions between model years, when i ordered. My bad i guess... :notsure:

Have you got any more photos, @HackD? More from the side and looking at the gap between the grill and bumper?

It appears that i have fouled up in my original assertion that ARB423140 fits 2006-2011, when i have ARB3423130 - a serious 'my bad' on my original posting. There is indeed 3 different ARB bumpers meant for the 2nd generation Tacoma - two for the first design (ARB3423030 and ARB3423130), and one for the later 2nd re-design/re-fresh (ARB423140). The two bumpers are very similar in appearance - and i think the difference lays in that gap that you mention - i see reference to where someone used a portion of their stock bumper surround to make the ARB work on their 2012+ Tacoma. I am unsure whether the individual put a 130, or 140 version ARB on their 2014, in terms of the complaint.

Ah, OK, William. I was looking at a used 2012-2015 version for my 2008 and was wondering about how it would look. If I was buying a new one I'd go with the correct one anyway. But if it didn't look too bad saving $400 may have been worth it.

Didn't catch this, but he has the 12-15 version on his truck. Without cutting the OEM bumper, it would have had a huge gap, where as I did not need to cut my OEM bumper to trim out the ARB on my 09
