Ok so I know how to reset the light when it comes on but my question is can you reset it ahead of time? I bought my truck used and I want to do an oil change because I'm not sure what's in the motor now: however, I don't want the light coming on in say 1k miles after and then always being wrong. This is both me being lazy and wanting to use the light as a reminder, and also because I'm anal about things like this and want the light to come on at the correct mileage. If this isn't possible then I guess I'll change the oil and wait for it to come on then leave it lit until the next oil change and it will catch up.

You can reset it at any time.
