Trying to gauge interest on this. I am going to eventually add air bumps to my rear suspension and thus I need a mount for the bumps and a strike plate.

Total Chaos offers a beautiful kit here but at $420.16 for just the mount it is pretty steep.

Polyperformance sells a nice clamp for just the can from synergy suspensions for $30/each but it is missing the mount for the frame, strike pad, etc.

My plan is to have a kit laser cut including the frame plate, guessets to connect the can to the frame plate, a strike pad to bolt to the leaf springs, and hardware. You would have to buy your own can mount from poly performance.

Since the parts are small and fairly simple I see being able to have them laser cut for roughly $100. You purchase the two can mounts from poly performance and weld them together and you have something similar to what Total Chaos offers for ~$160-$200.

If there is enough interest we can decide on material thickness etc. and I will develop a design and do a big batch of them. If there isn't enough interest now I will probably go ahead and build a single set for my truck anyway.

I have the TC kit, except I am running the u-bolt relocation plates as a "u bolt flip kit" for the strike plates and similar to the Icon product, they are awesome. I am running Fox 2.0 bumps and they can really take a hit well.

Yeah the Icon kit is more reasonable priced mainly cause it all comes as one kit. I am hoping to still shave about $100 off their price by the time I am all done though. Plus, my strike plate on the bottom with be for a ubolt flip so I don't have to by an additional strike plate.

Yep, this is what I plan to do, just dont want to spend $400 on the TC kit when I can built the same thing for around $150.

Yeah the additonal Special strick plate was stupid. it added $100 to the kit price... so really your getting a $200 savings if you flip the ubolts.

I agree, the kit is highly overpriced. Given their overhead and time spent designing this kit though, I could see why they charge what they do though. It sucks, but it is what it is. Some options would definitely give healthy competition though. Find out what the specs are on their design is as far as metal thickness used to construct it. I would definitely not say the bump cans are not 1/4 thick, but the plating behind the cans themselves probably are for extra reinforcement to the frame though.

Well our leaf springs are not perfectly center to the frame, that's why I had to run U bolt flip relocation plates from them. It allowed a little bit more distance outward so the bumps would not strike the u-bolts and their mating nuts.

Well, as much as I wanted to get air bumps, I decided for my needs I wont be doing them (for now) so this wont be happening anytime soon.
