Noticed a popping/clunking noise while going over speed bumps.... Truck is 1 year old, bought it with 0 miles. Currently has 29,000 miles.
UCA & LCA are torqued to specifications. The noise is recreated by grabbing the front driver side tire at 9&3 positions and shaking back and forth. There is play and a clunking noise. I checked the tie rods, no damage, no torn rubber, torqued to spec still have the problem. Then I thought maybe the sway bar/end links? They all look okay and are tight...
I have a video of the play and the noise but I'm having trouble uploading it from my phone to TW.

    Edit: videos added...

Hold the upper ball joint with your hand and shake the tire side to side and see if you can "feel" the clunk. Upper ball joints are the weak link in the control arms of the tacoma. Check the lower and tie rods as well. You'll need 2 people.

Secondly, I see front sway bar bushings wear out prematurely on trail driven tacos. You simple grab the sway bar with the vehicle on the ground and shake it front to back with force to feel if there's play.

Last of all, a simple bearing check, you can spin the truck up on jack stands in 4x4, or simply bang the wheel with a fist. A "hallow" sound on a front sealed bearing can indicate a failed bearing. Compare side to side.

Wow thanks for the quick reply!!
I'll get a friend to help me out. Idk if I'm crazy but I was hearing the clunk towards the inner tie rod/trans area.

    Video added.
Didn't "feel" anything on the upper ball joint.
Hopefully the video makes it easier to understand the noise?
