Just got off the phone with Bak. Guy said the guy who receives the e-mail for "support@bakindustries.com" is on the road and might not get the e-mails.
He said that they know about the issue, and this guy, and the VP of Sales, in addition to their engineering department came up with a solution to fix this....New seals. Said he'll send it out today to me, it'll come in a roll of about 17 feet. Peel off the old seals, wipe down the rail with rubbing alcohol, install new seal, and it should work better. He said as far as the front corners where I have a lot of water ingress, to RTV silicone around where that foam pad is installed and in that general area.
I guess I'll give this a shot...if it doesn't seal it's going back. Even if I have to pay for the return shipping.

I made him aware of the fact that there are several people on here experiencing the same issue.

I bought the backflip VP model for my 2016 Tacoma Limited, the side rails look just like the ones in post#139 about the last 6" near the tail gate are separating/delaminating on both rails. not getting a good seal someplace as bed has water in it from recent rain. Contacted Bak industries explained the issue, they said will send new weather striping. I asked for new rails. Also check out the return policy they say no product will be allowed to be returned after its been installed WTF! So will see what they send for a fix, but not getting a warm fuzzy feeling at all with this product.

the only person I've seen here that has even received a 2016 revolver yet is @Jelloboy above, and he indicates the rails seem as though they will work, but Bak sent him 2 of the same side. all of the fit/leaking issues reported (if there was even more than one?) have been with non-revolver models, unless I am missing something?

*edit* the revolver also has the rail remount. see here: http://bakindustries.com/files/pdf/...6-rx2-supplemental-install-sheet-12-18-15.pdf

did they suggest how you are supposed to realize there is an issue without attempting to install and not succeed because there is a design or manufacturing issue?

No fitment issues. Everything went together well. The foam that you put on the top of the bed at the cab seems rather large to me. I carved down the ends at an angle to let the top seal sit more flush. All in all nothing major. Just some fine tuning.

I guess this may be a common theme among 1st order Revolver customers...

I'll be emailing Bak & AutoAccessoryGarage also this evening. Got my Revolver this evening and also got two rails of the same side.. facing from the tail gate to the hood, both my rails fit the left side. The rubber seal inside the rail is not fully inserted, and half on one rail is completely out like Jellos photos. I checked the red parts bag and it looks like I got all the parts. The box was damaged but I didn't unroll the Revolver, probably will do that when I get back from my trip this weekend.

Can someone post a picture of where exactly the long seal is supposed to go on the head rail? Not the two foam pads, I'm talking about the 1/2" wide strip they send you that's like 8 feet long. Directions were a little unclear.

Yes, I got two driver side rails. AAG online customer support said they'd look into resolving the issue; I emailed BAK also.

Sounds like the piece that is intended for you to trim based on youtube videos Ive seen during my research on which cover to get. Check out a few videos, may help clarify.

Looking at your photo, the last 6 inches of your rail on the tailgate side doesn't look like it sits completely flush with the bed liner like just like on my VP. Maybe its just the photo or your just not as picky as others.

This is the same fix they quoted me as well. Originally I agreed to this fix because I really wanted to make this work but after thinking about it I decided to pass on this for now until they work out their kinks.

After sending me the same faulty rails twice Ive now taken off these rails 3 times and have to do it again to put on new seals. And I have to find the leaks and silicon. Isn't that their job? There are some big gaps BTW, look where the bak rails meet the bed on cab side.

In addition to shorting me on hardware in 2 different bags, the rails dont look good in my opinion. The ends are unfinished, sharp and unpainted.

At the end if the day a these little simple fixes add up and not worth the time to me.
Maybe if nothing else comes out I like better I'll grab one of these down the road if they work out all their probs and their warehouse learns how to count.

No they don't mention that, you have to read the policy (fine print) http://bakindustries.com/ft-810-shipping-returns.html I guess they just want to minimize returns/refunds as much as possible.

After reading this thread it is safe to say the Revolver X2 is off my short list for a tonneau cover. I was considering either the Fold-A-Cover G4, Revolver X2, and Extang 2.0 but after reading about all of their quality issues and shipping mistakes Bak Industries has lost my business. I contacted Fold-A-Cover and they said the G4 Elite is still a few weeks out. They have been telling me this since November. I'm thinking about just pulling the trigger on the Extang 2.0! Thoughts on this cover?

    Update...

It would appear that BAK Industries is floundering with the rollout of the Revolver X2 for the 2016 Tacoma. Their "Hot Rush" with overnight shipping that was requested on Tuesday is just being sent out today for their mistake. Their communication is non existent unless initiated by you. I'm hopeful that the right part is being sent and it fits correctly. Not impressed so far with BAK.
