    Hello,

I am looking to purchase a set of 16x8 black aluminum rims for my 2012 dbl cab 4x4. Does anyone know of a set that doesn't rub on the calipers?? I have heard mixed reviews on several types and I am looking for some personal knowledge from the great taco owners on this site......

Thanks for any infor or incite you guys may have.

I'd check the wheel and tire section of this forum.

Enter your truck info at the http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheelSearch.do it will give you about 30 wheels that will fit. They told me each wheel is verifed to fit without rubbing before it will go on that website search. Of course they double check when mounting. It worked for me.

Thanks everyone for the great info... One other question... Has anyone tried to powder coat a set of stock Tacoma rims? If so, how did it work? Any issues?

    Thanks again.

You shouldn't have any issues at all. One thing that I always suggest, and I always have my powder coater do for me:

Tape off the back pad (the part of the wheel that touches the hub of your truck) and the centerbore of the wheel prior to powder coating. You don't want paint between the wheel and your hub.

The only issue I might see is coming up with a viable, good looking center cap once you powder coat the wheels. Most of the Toyota caps are bulky, plastic caps, and they cannot be powder coated. You'd need to spray paint the plastic caps, but then they might not match the wheels.

On 275/75 are 16" rims too small? Or 17's?
