I am not sure which system is in your sister's Expedition, but it is likely the My Ford Touch, aka Sync2 ... the new Sync3, at least IMHO, addresses all of my gripes with Sync2. The screen is quick to respond to touch input, the buttons are bigger and easier to see while driving, but most importantly of all the voice commands are very responsive and easy to use. They're also offering the Apple CarPlay and whatever the Android versions is for Sync3 later this year, so that will also be a fantastic update for those users. Unfortunately Sync3 hasn't been integrated to all of the new vehicles, but a lot of the Fords that have received an update this year or next do have it. I've used it in the Fiesta, F150, and Escape. I hated Sync2 but personally think Sync3 is the best system installed in any car I've used (I've used lots of them too ... I get to play with a lot of cars at work hehe). However, the Android and Apple systems that are being integrated are even better, especially since you can use Google Maps with the Android which is really great compared to any of the auto manufacturers navigation systems. Sucks that Toyota is not on board with Android/Apple though ... le sigh.

Don't get why people complain about the my touch (sync 2) I love mine. Never had it freeze but it's lagged a few times. Almost any touch screen Monitor or computer does this. I have noticed a few sync 3 do the same. While I'll agree the sync 3 is faster overall. I don't like the GUI as much as I do in my truck with the sync 2

When you're backing up, if you're using a camera it's so much better to be looking in your rvm than your radio. It seems like a no-brainer to me. Backup cam screen in the dash is like having your speedometer in the cup holder.

I really agree with the backup camera sucking. I'm in the habit of giving it a wipe before I start driving.

    Thanks guys.
I just added an item to the list: the sun visor, it needs more warning labels.
To the gentleman that thought I was griping, think what you want, but I am not griping.
Just because I may be less than thrilled about something, doesn't mean I am griping.
And since you brought the "wife" into the discussion, There are many things that my wife does that drives me crazy. She is not perfect (whatever that means). But despite all that, I love her and would marry her again. You don't have to like something 100% to appreciate it.

This isn't a flaw with the camera, it's more of an issue with it's placement and to be honest 99% of the vehicles with a rear view camera suffer from this issue no matter the manufacturer. The rear of the vehicle collects so much crap, junk and moisture in wet weather that it's almost impossible to keep the camera clear. The only vehicle I have driven that isn't plagued by this is the 81,000lb ladder truck I drive at the firehouse and that's only because the camera is nearly 5ft off the ground and too high to pick up the bulk of the moisture and crap being slung up from a wet road. lol As far as the rear view vs in dash view, I think this is all a matter of preference. I used to be in the rear view camp when I still had my second gen but once I started driving vehicles with it in the dash I actually became accustomed to it and preferred the larger view. Keep in mind I try not to rely solely on the camera and still use my rear view/side view mirrors. I usually only use the camera when parking close to obstructions or other vehicles in parking lots as some of today's SUVs it's tough to gauge using the rear view mirror just where the ass is exactly. I'm looking forward to being back in a Tacoma.

You should add that our heated seat button is out of a GM parts catalogue! ;) That being said, it still has a satisfying *press* to it!

I like the back-up camera so much it needs to be mounted in the front. I cant see where the bumper ends and in the 4 days I have owned the truck the lack visibility over the hood and the less than ideal turning radius from what I am used to is making it hard to park the truck between the lines in narrow parking spaces. I will get used to it but I can't wait to see what happens with uphill offroad. I can foresee a front bumper view front camera in my near future. My last car was a 2001 with it newest technology being ABS brakes.

While I agree with this statement, and always defended why it was there, you can't compare the viewing angles between the two. Through my Gen 3 I can see my entire cul-de-sac and beyond. In my Gen 2 I could only see a little beyond my driveway. Lots of kids play on my street and I can see if they are playing or even in their yards. Gen 2 camera wasn't that clear for me. Anyway, just like my ass.....

I only use my camera for that last couple of feet so that I can see how close I am to something so the camera angles are just about irrelevant for me. I don't look at it while I'm backing out of my driveway, parking spots, etc. I think that would be a bad habit to get into regardless of how great the angle seems to be. There's no substitute for having your head up and letting your self-preservation caveman instincts monitor your peripheral vision while you're backing up. Hard to see things that are coming towards you from either side in a camera, right? It's one thing not to back into a pole. It's another thing entirely not to be t-boned while backing out into traffic. I know you're talking about backing out onto a cul-de-sac with very little traffic but like I said, it's the habit I'd be concerned about. Sweet truck by the way.

Thanks. No I don't rely on it entirely, looking through all mirrors too. Also have BSM and cross traffic alert, which btw saved my butt with some guy speeding out of a drive thru.
