never seen a spray-on tint job look good. people don't like to take the time to wet sand and buff that is needed for a factory quality finish.

Not to mention, you have no way to gauge whether or not your work is inspection legal. So its just easier to buy aftermarket and have a dark housing instead of a tinted lens

I worked in a foundry a number of years ago, one of my coworker's meatloaf samiches kept getting eaten by some alpha Charlie.
He decided he would "dose" one with ex-lax, nobody ever touched his lunch again.

Inspection? What inspection? One of the few things MD does right is only inspecting at time of sale.

ehh, they're half right. gotta do it like florida, where there is zero inspection......ever. or texas, where you have yearly inspection, but all they do is check for no idiot lights.

I finally found a low mile 3.4L for that 1996 4runner i bought. Same Arizona salvage yard that i purchased my 69k mile 3.4 for my taco. It's out of a recently wrecked 2002 4runner with only 109k miles. Just made payment over the phone. It cost me $700+$275 shipping, not bad considering everything i found local was $1000-$1200 with well over 150k miles. Next on the list is a tb & wp kit, drive belts, hoses, valve cover gaskets, Tstat, oil cooler hoses, fuel filter, air filter, plugs and wires. Might go to work tomorrow and pull the old engine out.

So is 4.75 ton working load enough for a shackle for our trucks?

That covers drums, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, and any labor for the life of the vehicle.

Fuck no. Not on a tacoma.

Shoes should last 100k. Drums until the rust out. Wheel cylinders will last a long ass time.

You didn't wear those things out on the last truck. And drum brake parts are cheap.

I agree. Too much money for at most 3 brake shoes replacement in a truck life.

180 on my drums, I do need rotors and pads now though, so I figure I may as well service the rear while I'm at it.

Going to start doing some motor work to as I approach the 200k mark here soon!

50700 miles on my drums and shoes, still look new.

Painted the drums 20k ago. Paint still looks great.

First time I pulled the drum on the driver's side, one of the round retainers broke and the spring kit fell out onto the ground. So I replaced it. No issues since. Won't pull them again until likely 75k.

They're so straight forward. Hardest part is adjusting them. AND GUESS WHAT?! THEY ADJUST THEM SELVES VIA THE PARKING BRAKE

    (Insert cheers and loud applause)
