Why are you trying to gather opinions of other owners? It sounds like you already have doubts and now you want others to weigh in to either enforce or deny whatever you think about the truck you chose to buy. :notsure:

I did just return from New Zealand, but I did not drive there

All of my miles since my September purchase have been in Texas ( it is a big state).

Is your truck yellow with a sign on top and checkered pinstripes? Or are you in the oil & gas industry? Only two reasons I can think of with those miles!

BTW, you gonna be able to join us on the 20th?

The new Tacoma DCSB 4x4 TRD OR has some issues but it's far from a piece of crap. Once those issues are worked out, it will only be an even better truck. I really enjoy my Tacoma, even though I have some issues:

    1. Transmission delay from R to D.
    2. Hood vibration.
    3. Rear window seals don't sit flush.
    4. Buzzing vibration from what I think is the passenger side dash tweeter cover.

I really enjoy driving the truck.

I got my 2016 limited 4x4 in November and love it. I have owned a sequoia, 2 highlanders, and a lexus gs. I am a fan.
There are some things people have criticized that I do agree with: The lack of a power driver's seat, heavy hood, and rear drum brakes. I consider those as would be nice but very minor problems to me. It is a great size for everyday driving and parking. It pulls my boat and the antisway works great. It fits me and I am pleased.

I can empathize with the op. With the track record of some of the new cars lately. You have to go to the source to get a good answer. I did when I almost bout a 6 leaker f350. And again when I bought my 08 ram. Most new cars have issues. Some are worth the bs for a good vehicle. Hopefully this tacoma will be. I figure with 100k worth of warranty, I should be able to have the bugs worked out

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
Coming from a 2010 trd sport to a 2016 trd off-road with all the bells and whistles.... I absolutely love it! Zero problems! After owning my 16' and riding in my buddies 11' and my dad's 12' I can't wait to drive my 16' again!

I have only owned it a day ... so can't comment on reliability ... but I love it :)

I don't have much to compare to though. I used to own a 2003 F150 Lightning, and that's a completely different kind of truck ... and I traded in a 98 RAV4 that had been in the family since new (was my wife's first car), so by comparison the new Tacoma is lightyears ahead in terms of comfort, refinement, technology, and just all around awesomeness ... All my other vehicles have been sports cars or Mustangs ...

I read some of the complaints online, but I also have faith in Toyota to take care of stuff. They have a great track record of taking care of customers, and my 2009 Camry has required nothing but regular maintenance items. In fact I just did the 120k mile maintenance for it, aka changed spark plugs and oil change #24 ... The RAV4 ticked along for 18 years and was still running just fine when I traded it in.

There will almost always be some teething pain with a new vehicle, but like I said, Toyota has my faith that they'll sort any bumps that come along and I'm sure it will be smooth sailing after that ...
