The only difference is the size of the rear alignment cam, guys are using the 15' kits and just opening up that hole. Rumor has it that BDS will have the 16' specific kit any day...

I would not agree with that at all, the best thing to do would be to wait and use the new 2016 kit. The 2015 LCA's and cams are a downgrade. The new larger cams on the 2016's are much stronger and help resolve the constant issue with taco's coming out of alignment so easily when off-roading.

We were the first ones to put a 6" on a 16 just trying to answer the question on what to do. We modified the drop bracket to fit the 16 bolts on my personal truck and then modified the head of the cam bolt to fit as well. I have had calls and messages from people all over the country and several guys have put 15 lca and cam bolts with no issues. If your worried about alignment with hard core off tossing I think most will say to stay away from a drop bracket lift anyway. My 2015 had a 6" Zone lift and we never had a issue with alignment

Hey look, I'm not trying to troll you on this buddy but seriously...look at that photo of that cam head you ground down - that thing could slip out of alignment from just going down a dirt road. The head is no longer round and it has a big flat spot on it. I'm not sure if you understand that a cam head is what " jams " the bolt into the position to hold the alignment. Just tightening the bolt is only half the equation. " hard core " off roading is not the common cause of alignments failing, constant vibration and bumps from simple dirt roads or gravel roads shake, vibrate and knock alignments loose all the time. Toyota redisgned the FJ when the flaw became apparent but in their usual stubbornness let the Tacoma ride as is until the 3rd gen. So, to then downgrade the 3rd gen back to 2nd gen is just silly.

It just seems ridiculous to spend all of the extra $ to buy a set of 15' LCA's amd 15' cams which are not as good as the 16' parts vs just being patient and waiting for the proper 16' kit to come out. If you work for a shop it also really bad business to advise someone to modify something like that.

Just to be clear, modifying the holes on the DB is no big deal but modding the cam heads as the ones you pictured is bad news.

I just finished my 6 inch BDS last night. I used a 15 lift and it worked great after mods. What I done was took my drop brackets to work and machined them to fit. Opened up the bolt holes to fit bigger bolts, then I machined out the cam area of the bracket instead of the cam on the bolt. This worked out great. I'll try to post a pic soon.

why do you need a 6 inch lift? How much off roading will you be doing with a 6 inch lift?
