Sense I am in the market for a new truck I have been looking at first Gen per-runners and I would like to know more about them any info is helpful.

What can you do off road with one?

Do they all have a locking differential?

What are towing capabilities 4 and 6 cylinder?

Do they make roof racks for the access/extended cab I want one that looks off roadish that I can put my bike on?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    1. You can, but nothing too technical, basically it's best to stay on maintained fire roads and gravel roads. This topic has been beat to death, search the forums for "PreRunner vs. 4WD" and you will find months worth the reading material on the topic! I myself wouldn't run anything but 4WD, but the state I live in it would be pointless not to have it.
    2. TRD Off-Road models do. O/R trucks are the only ones that came from the factory with a locking rear diff.
    3. 4 cylinder towing capabilities: 3500# V6 towing capabilities: 5500# are what the owners manuals say. These trucks never really were made to tow so I do not recommend exceeding those numbers. Not only is it unsafe, but it's also illegal if the DOT man catches you!
    4. Do a Google search on that one, there are dozens of aftermarket companies that make roof racks for just about any vehicle on the planet.
