Does anyone know if it is possible to add dual exhaust with rear exiting pipes to the new 2016 tacomas?

Im not sure, but i think there are things in the way of running true straight duals.

if not, I cant believe there wouldn't be massive sets of them running around since the wrap everything around manifolds has to be a big restriction on it.

if it were easy, I would do it if for no other reason then clearing that massive cluster fuck to let the engine run cooler.

I "think" it would need very pricey custom built manifolds and pipes to run below the frame and be exposed to view as well as impacts from hitting things, I think that's why it isn't done. also I have heard that if you remove the back pressure on things then it would rob any power gained by adding the duals so its a moot exercise in futility, although im not 100% convinced of that.

all of this is pure opinion with no certain facts one way or the other of course but I haven't ever seen any "true" duals on these trucks.

best thing to do is crawl under the truck and lay there mapping out where everything would go in your mind to see what you need to do.

Most exhaust shops will install duals and have them exit wherever you want. It's usually cheaper than buying aftermarket too.

OP, '16 != Gen1... Maybe you should post this in the Gen 3 forum? :notsure:

On a side note, "tacomas"?... How many do you have?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Pipes coming straight out the back look like hell, not to mention if you tow anything they will be even louder because the sound will bounce off the trailer. Just my opinion...

But, any decent exhaust shop can make it happen and for a lot less. The bad thing about buying pre-made pipes is you just never know they will bolt right in. I've seen it happen all too many times in the past people buying parts like that and they don't actually line up in their specific vehicle. The 2016's are so new, it's going to take probably a year or two for all the aftermarket companies to catch up and start mass-producing products for them.
