Okay... I can buy that. But the matte black looks dark grey to me compared to the SR grille but I'll check them out next weekend when I get to the dealership. Yeah, I think the whole "silver" thing was throwing me.

My eyes can't really distinguish a difference between the SR5 and Limited colors on my computer. In person maybe it'll be more clear to me. Thanks.

So weird that they put the flashy chrome grill on the Sport and Off-Road, and then the top of the line Limited they go back to the cheap plastic that's on the SR/SR5 but just paint it a different color. Toyota designers are a little off on their choices here IMO ...

Yeah, in those pics the Limited grille looks a bit lighter than the SR5. Thanks.

Finally decided on the BAMF grill and pulled the trigger over the SR5. Now the wait. Here's a photoshop photo someone posted.

I was going over the Toyota website the other day and one of the options for the Tacoma is an aluminum billet style grill with the "T" logo in it.

Was at the dealership this weekend and comparing my SR5 grill color to the SR and Limited they had on site. My observation is that SR and SR5 colors are exactly the same. The reason the SR looks darker is because it comes with a black bezel instead of chrome. The Limited grill is it's own metallic silver color.

Here's my SR5 grill. Only the bezel and center logo has been plastidipped.

Good point...the chrome bezel on the sr5 probably plays tricks with your mind.

They might both be black but they are not the same. The SR is painted glossy black, same paint on the black Tacoma, code 202. The SR5 is a matte black. So they might both the black but their appearance is much different. Even my 54 year old eyes can see that. ;)

What if you put a SR5 grill with an SR bezel???
Seems like a good setup that wouldn't need to be derped.
Might have to look at them at the dealership.

Yes you can do this. But you would have to purchase the SR bezel separately. The SR5 comes with a chrome bezel.

I was going to go this route but then I decided that there would be a lot of folks on the road with either SR5 trucks or SR so I pulled the trigger on the BAMF grill to be different.
