I bought these tires off of Sam and she is correct they are sloppy !!! A bit unsafe at freeway speeds particularly in long sweeping turns.

I had the privilege of meeting the engineer who designed these tires (they were designed, tested here in the valley) and he mentioned the on road characteristics of the tire were a little less than be desired due to the very thin sidewalls. They are a dune, soft sand tire (which is why they're so great in the snow) how ever he did mention during their testing the tire's handling habits proved unstable on rocky dirt roads as the tire is unpredictable once traction is broken (drifting, sideways in the drift the rear end pulls on the steering causing the front end to slide leading to uncontrolled steering direction) and as the sidewalls recover the steering comes back and you'll head off into the direction the front wheels are pointing once the speed is low enough for the traction to recover.

I've found this very scary as I like to get sideways in the dirt but literally have no control once I'm in the drift with these Duratrac tires, will replace with Toyos once these wear down or I find as good a deal on some Toys like Sam gave me on these Duratracs . . .

That's usually a pretty bad spot. Great if you are trying to sand blast your truck

Wife has to work real early tomorrow so we aren't going to a typical super bowl party.

Inviting another couple over for some dinner and scotch.

I'm making some cedar plank smoked salmon on the BBQ, bacon wrapped asparagus, roasted red potatoes, French bread, and the wife is making home made cheese cake.

Is this growing up?

Yeah sorry I forgot to mention not to always follow my line exactly. But good driving by you guys getting through all of that in stock trim. I tend to not pay too close attention to my line choice and just go.

 

Mt wrightson. I was hunting the north end of the Santa Rita's.

 

No biggy. There was a couple of times when I chose a different line.

 

And that's why I gave you a good deal. But hey, Aaron and I made a friend out of it!
