I think most people prefer autos because it makes it so much easier to do other things while you're driving, like drink coffee, talk on the phone, put on makeup, shave, text, eat a sandwich, drive with a stupid fucking dog on your lap etc.

Quite a naive assumption. You should try sleeping on the ground at the rest stop next to a busy freeway or in a parking lot of a Walmart or supermarket in an urban area. See how that works for you. I backpack a couple hundred miles a year in the mountains - unless you are homeless, I'd wager I sleep on the ground far more than you.

Sorry to ruffle your feathers there, Nancy. You're right, what could I possibly know. You're the only person with any life experiences, so please tell me more about how it is out there.

You asked a silly question, I replied and clarified. It seems you're the one who is a bit ruffled - by posting yet another obnoxious comment seeking some kind of confrontation. You want to hear stories? Go to a bar. I don't have anything for you. My "life experience" has taught me to ignore confrontational people like you. Have the last word if you feel so inclined. Have a nice life. I've got nothing more to say to you.

You're the one talking about sleeping on the ground at gas stations and other nonsense that has nothing to do with going out in the back country, which is what the conversation was about. Thanks for your valuable insight

Besides, I asked what was a reasonable question, and you gave an asshole response. Not sure what kind of reply you were expecting back.

When I ordered my truck I had actually never driven a manual transmission 16 Tacoma before, or actually seen the Inferno color in person. I have a few buddies with manual 2nd gens, but the 16 has a different transmission so I am not sure if it is an apples to apples comparison. All the 16's I test drove were automatics, and honestly they felt kind of slow but I didn't use the ECT button like a lot of people recommend. Still, after a few days of driving the manual I am so glad that I got it. The drivetrain feels a lot more connected to my throttle input, and it also feels like it has more power. First gear is pretty short, but this is really great for off-roading. I've driven jeeps before with really short gears, and in 4LO you can just crawl over anything in first and second. I'm okay with the short first gear, and on the highway 5th and 6th seem to work well.

Honestly, if anyone is on the fence, I can say with no reservation at all: go with the manual. It is a lot better to drive than the automatic.

Oh ya, and Inferno looks awesome :) No regrats.
