Who has them, and what are you using?

What camera are you using, how'd you mount it and why did you choose that make/ model?

I have been using a dash cam for a little over a year. I was involved in one collision where a driver t-boned me while I was making a right turn. Of course for that incident, my SD card had corrupted and I didn't know so I didn't capture the incident. I reformatted the card and have been good since.

I used a G1W for over a year with no issues at all (It was my fault for corrupting the card - accidentally erased a crucial folder). It costed about $60 and about $35 for a hard wire kit. My awesome girlfriend just gifted a StreetGuardian SG9665GC to me for Christmas and it is excellent quality. It is GPS enabled and tracks speed/location and takes super high quality video.

For someone who just wants something simple but effective I would definitely recommend the G1W. Set it and forget it until you need it. If you are looking to buy one, get it from a reputable seller like http://www.spytecinc.com/dash-cams.html since there are many fake copy cats out there on eBay and Amazon running shitty software.

They are a great thing to have for word against word situations and also just to catch stupid drivers doing stupid things. I'll upload a clip from my new camera a little later today to show the quality of the footage.

Running a Garmin Dash Cam 20 connected to my truck using one of the ImMrYo rear view window mounts and a modified Garmin Nuvi ball mount.

It's an OK Dash Cam and works quite well for my needs. I created a similar mount recently for my Mustang and installed another Garmin Dash Cam in the car.

I've got a $50 one from Amazon. full HD. I have it wired into the ignition fuse, so it automatically turns on/records when I turn the truck on, and shuts down when I remove the key.

    Here's a test I did, wheeling a while back

A clip from exploring in yesterdays blizzard conditions. Roads were up to a foot or so deep in places. Lowered tire pressure to around 28 PSI and kept a nice steady foot. No issues

I have the Thinkware F750 (mrsp $450 cdn) it mounts to the windshield with 3m tape which eliminates any shaking. It is the best bang for the buck. The main reason I pick it was the optional rear camera, but it has all the bells and whistles.

Here is a sample of the video it also has an example of the crappy drivers in my area
