I like my Terra Grappler G2 AT's 285/70R17. I will say that they are ok on the street but are fairly good off roading. I have had them in cinders, mud, snow, ice, rocks, dirt, basically anything. When I am out they are at about 20PSI had them at 12 once they grip pretty well for an AT. I forget how many miles I have on them but I will say I do have some chunks missing and they get a little gummy looking but they are designed to wear like that (so I have been told). I like them though but I do not have any other ones to compare with. Pictures are from early tire life truck and tires look different now but I like these.

Picking up a set of G2s this weekend! :D

    265/70/17

Hopefully doesn't rub too much on stock suspension with offset wheels, I think I'll be OK for the most part, especially on-road driving.

$75 instant rebate at Discount Tire for President's Weekend too!

I have rims with 4.75 backspacing no offset and im running 285/70r17 stock upper and lowers just some procomp coils etc (idk i bought it with them) and have a little rub on the lowers and frame but i think its from when its flexed and at full tilt. also could have been the old owner(s)

Nice, well that is a full inch (and some) larger/wider than the tires I will be getting so hopefully I should be in the clear.

My wheels are 4.5" BS with -10 offset

    Thanks,

I had the TG1s in 305/60-18s. They were a pretty good tire. I now have the Cooper S/T Maxx in 285/75-16s. Might not be fair to directly compare due to sidewall height and tread with differences. I would say the TG1s had better on-road feel, but the Maxx's have better traction all around. The Maxx is also a heavier and slightly louder tire. Maybe I'll try the TG2's next.

Thanks for the insight! Much appreciated. I found a 285/75/16 D range that might be perfect, specs are roughly 11.4/32.7/16 so roughly 1 inch taller and wider that the bfg rugged terrains I'm running now.

No, I meant the Mud Terrain.

Another note, still have lots of tread left on my G2's. I love these tires.

And also, as far as the review, I love my tires. They still have PLENTY of tread left even after a year of constant daily driving. I do a lot of hwy driving and some off-road when possible. I have no complaints either. I will most prob buy another set in bout another year when I need to replace them lol.

Nice looking Rig you have there. Question for you... did you have to do any trimming? From the looks in your pics does not seem like it.

I'm pretty much stock... my 5100s are on the way, but I'm only planning to level my truck. I'm also getting 17" SCS F5s rims and planning to get the same tire... I have a 4dr SR5 4WD.

If your backspacing is good, you will be fine. I do have the 4Runner wheels plus a .5" wheel spacer just for peace of mind. Only time I do rub is when I flex on steep inclines while turning the wheel. Other than that your all good. I only had maybe a few millimeters of space between the sidewall and the upper control arm.
