Mine goes away after it's warmed up from freeway driving. It's taking a longer and longer stretch of freeway driving to "warm it up" tho. I'm putting in my ECGS bushing this weekend.

Mine is the valve body. Took it to a transmission shop and they hooked it up and drove it around and said it would be $1,797 to fix

But on the other hand I'm going to see if itp can work their magic so I can do it myself and get it modified for $600 less!

ECGS bearing installed, it's been snowing and roads are covered but I didn't feel any vibes on the short drive I took after it was done. Can't wait to drive on some dry pavement and make sure it's really gone.

this is what i have and issue with right now.

    i will overhaul it myself.

but as i posted in my intro, is it possible to use the truck without the front diff installed?

    there lies the question.

my work schedule is 6-7 days most weeks and some weeks only half days off. so time to make the repair is a premium.

has anyone done this? will the front hubs stay together without the cv's?

i'm curious to know the answer. thanks

    @Boogyman @dakotasyota

Can either of you answer this?

I'm relatively sure you need to have a cv axle or "cv blank" on the hub side as that has a bolt that goes through the hub on the shaft.

Yeah. Our wheel bearings aren't designed to work without a a CV in them. Honestly it's only like a 45 min job to change the bearing.

I'm in the middle of the install. I've got the bushing tapped in, but I can't seem to get it to move the last 32nd of an inch to seat flush. Anyone know if that will be a problem if it sticks out a hair?

Taking my 2014 with around 25k miles in for this next Tuesday (dealership/warranty work). The truck has had the problem since around 20k miles, no better or worse since it started. Hopefully Toyota's updated bearing does the trick but I'm not holding my breath.

Same thing happened to me and according to ECGS it can stick out 1/4in and be fine but flush is better.

Thanks! I ended up leaving it like that. Good to know that was ok.

Everything else worked good. No vibes in the initial test drive. Tomorrow morning will be the real test but I think it worked!

2012 here, about to order the bushing from ECGS. Opinion on replacing the seal while replacing the bushing? Go ahead while im in there, or not leaking, leave it alone?

On my 12 the seal looked like it was in good shape and not leaking so I could have left it. I figured why not while I'm in there so I don't have to do the job twice. It's a pain in the ass to get out though so you may want to leave it if it's in good shape.
