The truck is home. Didn't have to use the tractor and recovery strap. Cleared a bit of snow from under the truck, placed cedar branches under all four wheels. Cleared a good path in front of the truck. Put in 4 Low,engaged the locker and out it came.

As an aside, my wife and I have driven 4 wheel drive vehicles exclusively for 35 years.... Jeeps, full-size SUV's, full-size pickups and six Tacomas. This is our first vehicle with a locker. Our Jeeps, SUV's and full-size pickups all had limited slip differentials. I do keep a recovery strap, clevis and shovel in my pickup and know how to use them. I only asked for information about engaging the locker on her new truck and that generated 44 responses. Some were very helpful, some very interesting and others...meh. Such is the internet.

Those of you with positive comments, "Thanks again".

I am just lazy I would have not wanted to walk the rest of the way home.

My ex wife would not have allowed her vehicle to spend the night outside of the nice warm garage.

I have done this far to many times

Glad it all worked out and the weather was nice.

It sucks when in the morning you need to uncover the vehicle you got stuck in the night before.

After using the D-6 to push through the new snow hoping to stop before you find it with the blade.

I am glad most of the responders here are not dentists. I can here it now " so you have a tooth ache, well if you had brushed your teeth more you would not have a tooth ache. Guy, but my tooth broke off while eating in a restaurant. Dentist: you are so lazy, didn't you hear me, you should have brushed your teeth more".

About as helpful as some of the responses here.

No reward. Helping her out was simply the expected thing to do.

    Ha ha....funny...
That's because you may not live in an area where getting stuck, even with a 4 wd is a daily fact of life like in snow country in the winter. . When you do "getting something in return" is just knowing the person you help will be there for you when you need them even if it is your wife. Or course, no offers are ever refused....

A guy I worked with said he saw a woman stuck in the ditch in the snow...he pulled up to her and asked if he could help...she says yes, then the guy says "that will be $300". The woman says hell no.....why would I pay $300 to get out of the ditch?" Guy says..."the last pregnant woman I pulled out of the ditch didnt have a problem paying the $300"...the Woman all kinds of mad by now says. " well Im not pregnant and Im not paying you $300 to get pulled out of the ditch!" Guy says well you arent out of the ditch yet either...;)

I would of just went down and got it out, if I couldn't I would have made the short 1/4 mile trip back home and grab the tractor and tow strap that you have and pulled it out. Then once it's out and I'm cozy at home, I'd read the manual on how to push the button to engage the locker, so next time it happens and she's 20 miles away in the middle of no where this doesn't happen again

easy guys, be nice = he's a fellow member asking for help, not a ass chewing or being made fun of. I'm sure his wife is afraid she'll do it wrong and break something (it sounds like she could) sooooo, like most women, if somebodies going to break it, let it be hubby. === Smart lady, I'd say.

I would tell her to figure it out. I'm not her daddy. She wants someone to do everything for her then she can call him.
She wanted an OR, well go learn to use it. Bundle up and good luck.

I assume you're not married. And when you do get married you dislike the sexual relations with your wife.

    Been married for 6 years...
To a man. So I can say shit like that and not have sex witheld.

If I were straight, I'd be married to my female bestfriend. She drives trucks bigger than mine. She'd never ask me to come get her. In fact, Id be asking her and she'd laugh and hang up the phone.

Then I'm guessing she's a lesbian. (Maybe a bad joke)

Besides girls who have daddy issues are either strippers or in porn. No one wants to marry them.

Haha no. Just a completely competent and strong farm girl. She can handle her own shit.

    Gotta love women like that.

    This thread went sideways, fast.

OP, there's a card in the driver's side sun visor and a sticker on the driver's door that summarizes all the info about engaging 4WD and locker for the TRD ORs. For future reference.
