New to Tacoma's and new here, figured I'd say hello! Today I traded in my 2002 Jeep Wrangler for a 2001 double cab prerunner. She's nameless and bone stock. It does come with a locking rear diff. I'm not sure how rare that is or not.

It is an OFF ROAD TRD if it has the locking differential... as well as Bilstein (yellow) nitrogen shocks. Looks clean! Now, go get it dirty! My first Tacoma was also a 2001... a 4WD Off Road Xtra Cab.

First snow today! Of course I had to test the "turn" radius about 6 times in the snow. Handled like a champ!

Came with the shell, and the bed extender. 130,000 miles and only paid $8900! I'll take it

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping to do a 4x4 conversion and build it up as an overland truck. It's going to take a while though, we are in the process of buying a home

Very nice, I lucked out on mine too. 98 with 84k miles for $9000. That'll never happen again. Mine had brand new lift and wheels and tires. Couldn't believe it. Enjoy your Tacoma man, new timing belt and water pump every 100k miles and it'll go forever (oil change, plugs, air filter etc go without saying)

Forgot to mention the new rubber! I might play around with a leveling kit, or try to do a torsion bar lift. (If thats possible on a Tacoma like on the Rangers?)

Nice find man. Welcome to TW, you won't regret your purchase. I just purchased my 2nd Tacoma recently. First is an 04 4x4 ext cab and the 2nd is an 01 prerunner doublecab.

Bug shield, somewhat worthless Nerf bars, rigged gas pedal, Jimmy rigged battery receptacle, and a Gaylord tonneau cover.
    Howdy all,

I am late posting. I have been following these boards for a few years. I bought a 2004 Taco Prerunner extra cab back in 2010. I've been wanting to do a bit to it and have now finally gotten around to ordering my parts. I have a few questions though. How do I know if I have the replacement OEM TSB spring leafs? I've dug around and can't find anything other than aftermarket products. Also, can I still get a dealership to install post warranty if I don't have the TSB's? Sorry if this is a dead horse.

So the new add-ons are the Billies 5100 all around with the stock coils for now and the 1.5 Fabtech AAL. I'm wrapping the original wheels in Firestone Destination ATs with the special addition camo side walls. I ran the Destinations before and after debating between some Toyos vs Hankooks, I decided my Destinations worked just fine, so if it ain't broke don't fix it. Plus the camo sold me. I'll post some before and after pics.

Finally, with the Billies, I have been confused by the 1st and 2nd gens. What should I set it on for an even/slight rake without fudging up my UCA's? Should I go with the middle level or high given the 1.5 AAL? Thank you all and I am very happy with my Taco, even though it's not a 4x4, the rear diff keeps be hanging in the desert with other 4x4's best truck ever... For now.

If anyone is in SoCal, I'm ready to hit Anza Borrego at the end of this month. Let me know if you want to roll.

That's all above me man! And thanks for the follow! I'm sure someone else in here can answer those questions for you. Have you tried searching? I think I remember seeing something about the middle setting for the 5100's on here not to long ago.
