There is a low drain hole that does not have to be covered. Others might drill small holes in the plugs. The Plugs are not so tight water cannot weep around the outside. Buy the time my LCAs rust away the truck will be on it's third or fourth owner,

This is exactly what I am looking for, not a complete plug but enough to stop that perfect air flow and allow draining.

Ideas where to grab these grommets from?

I have the same noise I believe at highway speed from the drivers mirror. I don't think there will be an easy fix. Maybe vent visors will make it better? Or worse?

Now that I got rid of the 35-45 mph howl I now have a 55-65 mph howl that sounds like it comes from the passenger side or maybe the drivetrain. It's not as noticeable but it's there. Damn it Internet, why do I read you?

Toyota rep and dealer says that nothing is wrong I called toyota customer support they contacted dealer and he just called me and said everything is within specs and there are no problems. "I'm sorry sir but toyota cannot control the wind" I've had almost every common problem with the 2016 had truck for a month and it's been in the shop for 2 weeks. I had an 06 and loved it great quality apparently toyota has dropped the ball on this one. I'm going today to possibly trade it in. Also I don't know what everyone is getting for mileage but the best I've seen is 17.1 and I've tried every different style of driving with 90% of all my driving is hwy.

You can plug the holes yourself. You're going to trade it in based on that?

I think he would trade because of Toyota's attitude when it comes to their new truck...."Everything is a characteristic of the new Tacoma" I will still look at the Ridgeline when it comes out just because....

Honda is far more inclined to fix issues as has been my experience with the 14 CRV and my past 10 Accord Coupe. I never heard "They all do it....buh bye" from Honda Service here.

Tacobella is correct it's more the dealer, dealer rep and costumer relations at toyota. Don't get me wrong I like the truck but I am tired of all the excuses and outright denial of the problems. It started with my delivery time of second week in Dec three delays and two months later it shows up with a scratched bumper and the bed was way out of wack no bed tie downs and no tailgate key all of these were frustrating but fixable. What wasn't fixable was i ordered it with the tanou cover but it didn't come with the factory one so the dealer ordered it but guess what it wasn't the factory one it's was the extang 2.0 because they couldn't order the factory one apparently they think it's the same thing. Took it back a week later for bumper replacement and bed alighnment also they didn't put the front seals in for the tanou cover I guess leaving them in the bag in the glove box was easier. Not sure why but I took for granted they fixed everything correctly and went home. It's then that I noticed the bed had been adjusted but still way off back to the dealer by now I noticed the hood glue needed replacing and talked with them about the two different wind noises this was a Thursday and they needed to keep it for two days for the glue to dry. The following Tuesday had not heard form them so I called and they had not gotten the glue in until that morning and the truck had to be inside for two days for the glue to dry to cold outside in wisconsin right now. I drove by the dealer that night and the truck was sitting outside so there was another lie. Called in the morning and my truck was done but the service manager said that the bed was out of adjustment and needed a toyota rep to look at it next week all the this time he was agreeing that it was way off. A week later in for two more days and Rep says there is no more to adjust it is within toyota specs. I asked the service manager why is the exact same truck on your lot adjusted perfectly but mine cannot be he shrugged his shoulders. So I asked about the wind noise and he said he didn't hear anything and yes I know there is a fix for it on this forum but I have two different howling noises one from a-arm but I have one coming from my drivers mirror that is extremely loud when going into a head wind when I get a chance to record it is will post the video. And to top all of this off when I call toyota customer relations they tell me we can't control the wind.

Impressive that's your input on all that I said. Congratulations on pointing out that I suck at punctuation that should solve the problems.

    No problem. :)

    Glad I could help.
Go to a different dealer. It sounds like that one is incompetent.

I'd "fix" this issue by adding some aluminum LCA skids... seems like as good an excuse as any to me.

The holes need to be there for drainage... otherwise your LCA's will eventually rot/rust from the inside out

Toyota NVH likely picked this up during R&D testing but decided to live with the noise because the holes in the LCA's are required for QDR purposes, which is what Toyota prides itself on.
