    Hi everyone,

I just got a new 2009 Tacoma and the spare was in the bed. What options do I have for mounting it? I've seen the rear bumper mount and I plan on checking/fixing if needed the stock spare location. I did a search and did not see anything that stood out.

    Thanks

Nope, its empty. I've not crawled underneath yet, but it may not even have the lift cable and puck (or whatever that think in the middle of the wheel is called).

Update for anyone who cares. I finally got the tool out from under the back seat and got the spare under the frame. I love that I have the bed open now. All is well.

lock your spare tire under the truck. Just had mine stolen last week. My buddy had his stolen last month. Pity.

I guess the dealer put it in the back because the shell locks. I'll put a chain and lock on it as soon as I can.
