AG has a nice selection of products for tires. I just got some of this Duragloss 253. Nice stuff. Makes tires look brand new. Shiny, but not greasy. Basically "like new".

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. Not to shiny/blingy but has that shine to it. You can also used Fluid Film if I'm not mistaken.

 No to Fluid Film. It specifically says it may cause rubber to swell.

Haha oh shoot my bad. Weird cause I remember someone posting up a video from Fluid Film saying you could use it as a tire dressing.

This reminds me of the guys that used to use old motor oil as a tire dressing. Some old school guys still do :) I also remember my grandpa using used motor oil to put on the floors of all the out buildings on their farm that had bare wood floors. 80 years and still holding up just fine!

You can use brake fluid too but that doesn't mean you should.

I worked at a dealership about 6 years ago. They used a bulk(55 gallon drum) of a silicone based tire dressing. It made the tires super shiny but it never dried, would fling residue down the side of the vehicle, and dirt and dust would stick to the tire. This is common among silicone based tire dressings.

I use Carpro Perl. It's a great water based dressing. I've also used Optimum Opti-bond dressing and would recommend that as well. The weird thing about tires is different tire compounds react differently to dressings in my experience. Some seem to hold a nice shine for weeks while others last a few days. Find one that you like and keep using it and the two I recommend may seem expensive but they really do last a long time. I think a 500ml bottle of Opti-bond would last around 30-40 cars for me.

Considering it is a petroleum based product, just because you CAN apply it doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I would think the dealerships use whatever they get for cheap and in bulk from whoever supplies them with wash stuff.

I used to use motor oil myself. Now I don't bother.

That's what I'm using myself. Water based so it won't harm your rubber & you can dilute it to whatever shine you want. A gallon goes a long way! Great stuff!

I spray it on a Carrand Tire Shine Applicator & brush it on to keep the overspray off my wheels.

I used to use spray nine...leaves zero shine, was good for removing dirt.

If you want your car to smell like a sheep you will apply it to the tires. Or burning sheep, like in my case when you get overspray on the exhaust. Took 4 days of burnt hair smell for that to finally burn off the exhaust. Good ol' lanolin based products.

Any experiences using this stuff on a white vehicle specifically in regards to Staining Paint from overspray after the product has been applied to the tires?

I apply it to the tires on my wife's white 4Runner & no issues at all.
