That damn beeping.....

Anyone know how to disable the beeping when I hit the "Engine On/Off " button to turn off, then open the door....It bleeping beeps till I get out of truck and shut the door.....UGHH

 

It's telling you it loves you and doesn't want you to leave.

 

Usually they only beep while the door is open, if you need to leave it open for whatever reason, simply depress the plunger and it will stop

 

I HATE THIS JUST AS MUCH AS YOU. HAVE TO REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE BEFORE OPENING THE DOOR.

 

It's almost as bad as typing in all caps!

OP it is supposed to do that .... annoy you that is ... in this day and age some people may not know the door is open. The buzzing lets them know that. Many people are visually impaired and wouldn't know the door is open. Now before someone says that it was not designed for the visually impaired then why is there braille on the keypads of drive through bank machine atms? Toyota is just trying to be in compliance.

 

I thought that was so your fingers don't slip

 

There is a T27 sized screw right under the plunger in the door. Open it up, pull the clip out, and poof! no more beeping.
